Deer in Nara ParkNara is located center west area of Japan and one of Kinki district; smaller and quieter than Kyoto. Also Nara was the first permanent capital of Japan (from 710 to 794 A.D.), as such has many famous hisorical sights. There are 1000's of tame deer that roam around Nara Park. They're so accustomed to humans now that they even bow before receiving food from people.

Kofukuji TempleKofukuji Temple is one of the many temples located in Nara Park. It's famous for it's five-story pagoda which was built in 1426 as an exact replica of the original from the 8th century. The name Kofukuji means "Happiness Producing Temple" and was originally built as a teaching temple for the children of the Fujiwara clan. This is a shot taken from Sarusawa no ike Pond, and is one of the famous views in Nara.

The Great BuddhaThe Daibutsu or Great Buddha is easily the biggest and most visited sight in Nara. The 30m high bronze statue of Buddha is housed in the world's largest wooden structure, the main building of Todaiji Temple. Todaiji was founded in 745 as the headquarters of all temples in Japan.
